About PDWhy Participate in Professional Development?
For the Individual…
Professional development can help you grow personally and professionally. It can expose you to new ideas and methods that will assist you in realizing your career goals.
For the Organization…
By sponsoring your employees to participate in professional development, you are showing your commitment to maintaining and enhancing the professional competence of your staff. This demonstrates that your organization is committed to provide the best possible service and professionalism to your own clients. And your commitment to PD will enhance your staff retention and recruitment efforts.
Professional development promotes employee motivation, productivity, morale and creativity. It is a good way to groom employees for advancement, and helps managers realize the full potential for their teams.
ICABC PD Mission
We are dedicated to providing the highest quality professional development opportunities and products to meet the constantly evolving PD needs of our membership.
How PD Works
Simply click on the PD Seminars link to find out more about the wide array of seminars available and the competencies these address. You can browse for seminars by Category, Competency, Location or Date…or search our seminar database via a keyword search. Select the seminar(s) you want – for yourself, or for individuals in our organization – and add these to your online shopping cart. When you have made all the selections you want, there a number of ways for you to register these choices.
If you can’t make it to the classroom, you can explore our extensive library of PD on CD, audiotapes and Webinars and access your PD anywhere, anytime. Click on the PD Products link in to find out more about these options.
Pre-purchase and Save Money
There are a number of PD Passport options that allow individuals or organizations to pre-purchase, at a discount, seminar access or PD product credits. Choose the right plan that offers you the best flexibility and savings.
When planning out your professional development schedule, remember your requirements for mandatory continuing professional development for all members resident in B.C.
